The Fun Stuff

Book Club

Love reading? Maybe you don't love reading but want to explore awesome books, relatable themes, and memorable stories in a community of sweethearts?

I am forever recommending books, sharing quotes, and using metaphors with my clients as a way to reach greater understanding. You know how sometimes you come across a passage and the words hit in a different way? And maybe, even for that moment in time, they make you feel a little more seen or understood? Ditto. That's why I love books; there's something so humanising about learning about yourself through understanding someone else's world.

So, this is why I created the Hi Beautiful Book club. Here, we explore words and let story and community warm our days! This isn't a recovery group, but we do explore relatable life themes. If it's relevant to the text, sometimes we might discuss ED-related topics, or we may connect with character or recovery experiences. All books are chosen with intention and consideration, and discussions are led by yours truly and explored in a supportive and projective manner. The book club is run monthly, and in each meeting, the book for the next month is released!

Alongside the fabulous Mia Findlay (of what mia did next YouTubechannel), I am co-hosting our first Eating Disorder Recovery Retreat for Beyond Body this November in Mollymook NSW.

The retreat is about connection, community and learning out to use those very transferable skills the recovery offers in your post recovered life! The retreat is:

- 5 days 4 nights
- 3 workshops

– Private coaching sessions x2

Including cooking classes, daily medications, all meals and snacks, accommodations, 2 x private coaching sessions with myself and Mia, a fabulous winery lunch, mindful wilderness walk plus much more!

If you can keep up with my speedy articulation and sometimes word vomit, you can hear me and Mia discussing all things mental health, Eating Disorders and being a human being in this world on the Beyond Body podcast.

I acknowledge the traditional custodians and ancestors of the land on which I live, work and play, the Arakwal and Bundjalung Nations.
I acknowledge their continuing connection to land, waters and community and pay my respects to elders past, present and emerging.
